Neuroradiology

Dr. Jennifer Hill was recruited from the Department of Radiological Sciences at UCLA. She serves as President of Renaissance Imaging Medical Associates (RIMA). She brings a unique set of interests and experiences from a multifaceted background.

After graduating from Stanford University with a B.S. in bioengineering, Dr. Hill joined a start-up medical device company, Target Therapeutics, where she was part of the research and development team. While there, she designed and developed catheters and guidewires for use in interventional neuroradiology procedures. Her technical experience in the field of neurointerventional radiology led her to pursue a degree in medicine.

She attended medical school at UCLA, where she was president of her class and graduated in the top 10%. Additionally, she was elected a member of the AOA Honorary Society. After completing an internship at UCLA in the Department of Medicine, she continued on at UCLA for her radiology residency. Dr. Hill was Chief Resident in the Department of Radiology and then pursued additional fellowship training in neuroradiology.

While a resident and fellow at UCLA, Dr. Hill was actively involved in research with significant funding from the NIH and Radiological Society of North America. She received an RSNA research award to develop an atherosclerotic model in swine with the aim of advancing diagnostic imaging capabilities of plaque characterization. Her NIH grant involved evaluating the effects of bisphosphonates on the progression of atherosclerosis in patients taking Fosamax.

Dr. Hill also led industry funded research projects evaluating phototherapy for the treatment and prevention of intimal hyperplasia and projects evaluating new methods of targeted drug delivery of chemotherapeutic agents utilizing intravascular techniques. She continues to pursue her research interests at UCLA, where she holds a Clinical Assistant Professorship.

Dr. Hill has broad experience with advanced cardiac and vascular imaging. She has done extensive research in the field of coronary artery calcium imaging, and has been invited to speak at UCLA and multiple community hospital Grand Rounds. Her experience in neuroimaging spans pediatrics to geriatrics with a special interest in stroke and neurovascular imaging. She enhances the group’s use of CT angiography not only in peripheral applications but also in cardiac imaging and in the detection and characterization of aneurysms, carotid and intracranial stenoses, and vascular dissections. With her interests in stroke imaging, she has acquired expertise in perfusion imaging, both CT and MRI. Dr. Hill is also experienced in performing spine procedures such as epidural and selective nerve root blocks, facet injections and discograms.

Dr. Hill is a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, International Spinal Injection Society, American Association for Women Radiologists, and Los Angeles Radiological Society.
