Musculoskeletal Imaging

Dr. Mauricio de la Lama was recruited to Renaissance Imaging Medical Associates from the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City where he was trained as a musculoskeletal radiologist.
Dr. de la Lama was born in Mexico City, Mexico but grew up in San Diego, California where he attended the University of California San Diego, from which he graduated cum laude with a degree in biochemistry and cell biology. He completed his medical education at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois and subsequently his radiology residency at Albert Einstein Medical College in New York City where he served as Chief Resident during his last year. He did his fellowship training in musculoskeletal radiology at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
His expertise is in interpreting musculoskeletal magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound and plain radiography, in addition to performing a wide variety of image-guided procedures using CT, ultrasound and fluoroscopy. The procedures include joint, tendon, and epidural injections, as well as myelography. He has been the author of several peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research at national.
Dr. de la Lama is an active member of the American Roentgen Ray Society, American College of Radiology and Radiological Society of North America.
